What is LibertarianValues?

LibertarianValues is a political test made for people who support making society more libertarian. It seeks to identify the positions and values of Libertarians. If you are a Authoritarian, this quiz is obviously not made for you, but you can try taking it anyways. You will be presented with a statement, and then you will answer with your opinion on the statement, from Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree, with each answer slightly affecting your scores.



What are the values?

There are 8 Independent Axes - each one of them with 2 opposing values assigned, each representing a different viewpoint. These values are:


Horizontality (Workplace structure)
Those with higher Horizontality scores believe that hierarchies are inherently authoritarian. They tend to favour anarchism and socialism.


Stratification (Workplace structure)
Those with higher Stratification scores tend believe that socio-economic hierarchies are not only compatible with libertarianism, but also preferred and optimal. They tend to be more right-wing economically and 'authoritarian' according to left libertarians.


Communist (Property)
Those with higher Communist scores tend to prefer Communism and socialism over capitalism. They tend to be more left-leaning on economic issues, and tend to support a socialization and worker ownership of means of production. They also tend to oppose Capitalism as a whole.


Propertarian (Property)
Those with higher Propertarian scores tend to prefer Private ownership over Socialism. They tend to be more right-leaning on economic issues, and tend to suppport society based on property rights. They also tend to believe that human rights come from private property and private property needs to be respected to society be libertarian.


Planning (Planning)
Those with higher Planning scores believe that economic planning is best way to organize economy.


Markets (Planning)
Those with higher Markets scores believe that free markets is best way to organize economy.


Internationalism (World)
Those with higher Internationalism scores believe that libertarian society should be international and globalist. They tend to support open borders, as well as international regulations and economic globalisation.


Nation (World)
Those with higher Nation scores believe that nationalism is desirable in libertarian society. They tend to support national liberation, as well as isolationism and economic autarky.


Statism (State)
Those with higher Statism scores believe that state is needed for safe and libertarian society. They tend to support more powerful state, as well as economic and international interventions.


Acracy (State)
Those with higher Acracy scores believe that government/state should be abolished. They tend to be more radical, and might support anarchism.


Progress (Culture)
Those with higher Progress scores are highly skeptical of traditions, and believes that making libertarian requires cultural progress. They tend to support anti-theism and radical progressivism.


Tradition (Culture)
Those with higher Tradition scores are generally supportive of established traditions. They believe that progress leads to authoritarianism, and wish to go back to past cultural and economic systems.


Revolution (Rebelliousness)
Those with higher Revolution scores believe that libertarian society should be made through revolution, and that reform is an illusion. They tend to support anti-reformism.


Reform (Rebelliousness)
Those with higher Reform scores believe that libertarian society can and should be made by reformist and electionalist means. More radical reformists may even reject direct action and protest.


Libertarian Unity (Cooperation)
Those with higher Libertarian-Unity scores believe that libertarianism should work toghether for a common goal. They tend to be less resentful towards other libertarians with different economic and/or cultural beliefs.


Disunity (Cooperation)
Those with higher Disunity scores believe that different Libertarians simply disagree on too many issues. They think that Leftist Libertarians cannot work with Rightist Libertarians, and/or vice versa.
